ENGINEER BIO

I have been interested in music from a very early age. I grew up living on the West Coast of America in the state of Oregon. I enjoy recording all styles of music, and have over the years. The main issue is it has to be tight. If the music is tight I find it enjoyable to work with. I have been recording music/sounds on over 700 recording sessions. Varying from simple voice over work including psychological scripts to hip hop, country and western, psycho-billy, solo acoustic artists, death metal, Reggae, electro pop, Punk, Goth metal rock, funk and spoken word / poetry.... I most enjoy it when an artist is performing with the same passion for music as I have and the vibe is up.

I was recently was awarded best music producer for the TV show Music Biz aired on CH 31. The artist I worked with on the program was Adam Roche.

I have been playing bass guitar since 1989, in many bands (most recently with the Dirty Romantics), I have been a band reviewer/CD reviewer in the printed media (The Form Guide) and also a CD reviewer on CH 31, Asylum TV.

I was a part owner of band booking agency called Ambivert. Most notable artists Ambivert booked was Pre-Shrunk’s early shows in Melbourne and Adelaide, and Rich Webb (The Stiff Kittens). The Ambivert Urban Festivals were quite a scene, including dance acts, face painting, stand up comedy, visual art exhibitions and some circus feats…

I have been a stage manager/event organiser several times working with the Fringe festival. I booked the bands organised performance schedule and Front of house sound engineer and sourced sponsors for the PA and the lighting.

I was involved with the Come Together fund raising concerts for the Yorta Yorta people. The concerts were recorded live and then mixed, produced and engineered by Incubator. Featured artists included; Augie March, Dave Graney, Wendy Rule, Little G, and Kulcha Edwards. I have taught bass guitar, also worked in musical instrument retail new and second hand (Music Swop Shop Carlton and Billy Hyde Music).

ARTISTS I HAVE WORKED WITH:

Some artists that I have worked with that you may be aware of: John Reece from Men At Work, The Fireballs, worked on early demo for the hip hop group TZU, Hugo Race and the True Spirit (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Wreckery, The Birthday Party) and Hugo Races other project Sepiatone (Recording and played bass on a number of tracks).... This is not a fully comprehensive list. Please if I have forgotten anyone send Incubator an email, thanks.
