Incubator Recording and Mastering studio, is a modern, custom-built recording facility. Incubator offers audio services and music production, in a naturally bright and comfortable environment. Situated in metropolitan Melbourne with convenient parking, Incubator has easy access to public transport and all amenities.
Incubator Recording and Mastering price includes the services of a sound engineer with 16 years recording experience and 19 years experience as a bass player/guitarist. Incubator specializes in recording sound; whether it is a voice over recording, a hip-hop production, rock to pop, metal…we simply love music in all its forms and have recorded all styles.
When making a booking to record it is important to point out that mixing is session time. You are booking time in the studio. You are paying for time in the studio. That is time setting up sounds, time listening back to performances, time playing the same song over again...
THE INCUBATOR HAS THREE ROOMS:
The Large Room

The large room is perfect for that "live" drum kit sound with lots of space. The large room also has natural light and can be used for a variety of instruments i.e. brass ensemble, vocal chorus, Marshall stack…
The Vocal / Isolation Room
Not a typical tiny vocal booth for a vocalist to squeeze into, but a comfortable space suitable for a variety of performances, especially where isolation from other instruments is desirable. Very good for a radio voice overs and guitar amp separation.
The Control Room

Spacious and comfortable, can seat 6 people, natural light, two couches situated on a viewing platform allows for excellent sight lines to the recording areas. The control room also has great acoustics and an engineer who knows the equipment.
OTHER SERVICES
An audio mastering service is also available for final touches to Incubator recordings.
Live Venue Recordings
Live recordings at venues are possible, however costing is calculated after Incubator has investigated the site for potential and feasibility. Incubator uses a split multi-core for live recording. A split multi-core allows Incubator to have all the same signals as the front of house (FOH) engineer without interfering with the FOH set up. This added flexibility gives a far superior sound than taking a feed from the FOH mixing desk as a live recording. It gives greater control of "live" mixing later at the Incubator. The split multi-core combined with two room microphones for crowd response gives a nice live recording! Please phone with your live recording questions.
SESSION MUSICIANS
Incubator Recording and Mastering can arrange session musicians for your project. Whether it's a drummer, guitarist, bass player, violin, string quartet, piano/keyboard player or 7 piece brass section.....All of the above can be arranged for your project. The cost for session musicians varies with each recording project. The number of songs and how many session musicians involved will determine "how much". Phone Incubator and ask about your needs.
Vinyl record to CD
Incubator can also transfer your favorite vinyl record to CD for $45 per vinyl recording transfer. Please phone with your vinyl to CD project requirements and questions. A reduced fee can be quoted on vinyl to CD transfers of 4 or more records (vinyl). If the vinyl needs restoration, clean up for example lots of noise, clicks or pops each vinyl needs an individual quote.
Data back up
Data back up is part of the "recording" fee and is considered "time" in the studio. Artists need to be aware that after the mix there still may be an hour of time needed to back up the session. This is part of your session just like getting a drum sound at the start of the day or the time spent tuning instruments between takes, it is time in the studio. Artists are required to provide a portable hard-drive or USB stick capable of holding their session data. Call us if you require advice on which hard drive to purchase.
