SERVICES

Incubators price includes the services of a sound engineer with approx. thirteen years experience recording and seventeen years as a bass player/guitarist. Incubator specializes in recording sound; whether it is a voice over recording or a hip-hop production to rock to pop…we simply love music in all its forms and have recorded all styles.

Incubator recording studios, is a modern, custom-built recording facility. Incubator offers a full suite of audio services and music production, in a naturally bright and comfortable environment. Situated in the geographical heart of metropolitan Melbourne with convenient parking, Incubator has easy access to public transport and all amenities.

The Incubator Recording studio has three rooms:
The Large Room A versatile space comfortably accommodates 6-7 people with instruments. The large room is perfect for that "live" drum kit sound with a great sense of openness. The large room also has natural light and can be used for a variety of instruments i.e. brass ensemble, vocal chorus, backing singers, Marshall stack…
The Vocal/isolation Room Not a typical tiny vocal booth for a vocalist to squeeze into, but a comfortable space suitable for a variety of performances, especially where isolation from other instruments is desirable. Very good for a radio voice over.
The Control Room Spacious and comfortable, natural light, two couches situated on a viewing platform allows for excellent sight lines to the recording areas. The control room also has great acoustics and an engineer who knows the equipment.
Incubator will gladly spend a few hours of time discussing and planning your project before recording commences. This is important for Incubator to be on the same "page" as the artist, and have a feel for what's expected and what "we" are capable of doing together.

OTHER SERVICES
Live Recordings at Venues Live recordings at venues are possible, however costing is calculated after Incubator has investigated the site for potential and feasibility. Incubator uses a split multi-core for live recording. A split multi-core allows Incubator to have all the same signals as the front of house (FOH) engineer without interfering with the FOH set up. This added flexibility gives a far superior sound than taking a feed from the FOH mixing desk as a live recording. It gives greater control of "live" mixing later at the Incubator. The split multi-core combined with two room microphones for crowd response gives a nice live recording! Please phone with your live recording questions.
Vinyl record to CD Incubator can also transfer your favorite vinyl record to CD for $35 per vinyl recording transfer. Please phone with your vinyl to CD project requirements and questions.
Data back up Data back up is part of the "recording" fee. Artists need to be aware that after the mix there still may be an hour to two hours of time needed to back up the session. This is not a free service, it is part of your session just like getting a drum sound at the start of the day or the time spent tuning instruments between takes, it is time in the studio.
Mastering A mastering service is also available for final touches to Incubator recordings. The final recorded product is available on CD, DAT or hard drive format (client must provide their own hard drive or DAT for this service).
